Wow, Longtime no update. Didn't take me long to fall off the wagon huh?

In all seriousness this was my at work release. we started using a new B.S. webfilter (websense) and they have this blocked as well so no more blogging for josh at work.

I promised a video comparing the two versions of this figure. Then I though harder about it and I thought I would be hateful and make yall come here. BWAHAHAHAHA

anyway on to the comparison. Click image for fullsize.

First up boreing profile shot but you can kinda see pretty much ever single new piece of the truck in this one shot.
New: Bumper, Front and Rear doors, Roof, Fuel Tanks, and Mirrors, Rollbar, rear glass, and exhaust.
Retained: Hood/fenders/grill units, windshield, bed, wheels and tires.

As a side note, I am not to crazy about the new bumper. For one the "tusks" on the side are fairly pointless from a trail armor perspective since there is no bar across the top, they would do more to trap stuff against the fenders and get hung up than anything. The only real purpose they serve is to help sell the crossbow feature in robot mode.

Next up a shot from the rear showing off the new exhaust, rearmost portion of the cab, and rollbars. not to mention the missing paint applications.

And just for giggles, the Recon ironhide with all his extra weapons removed, and swapping fuel tanks with the 2007 figure.

Robot mode I was wrong, almost nothing has changed except for the Heads, and the collars that the head is mounted to. new head is smaller, cleaner, and ball jointed. Even the feet that I was certain were new are just painted silver.

Only major strike I give the new version is the Gold paint on the chest piece is downright sloppy. but dang I like the new head.

Now for the fun stuff,

Max Load Ironhide. All but one weapon is on him right now.

Yes that is a bayonet on a panzerfaust. To add insult to injury you stab the guy a split second before you turn him into a fine red mist.

Quite possibly more idiotic. A Mini-gun bayonet... On an anti-tank rifle. Like I said, Homeboy is cracked in the head. That or I am for thinking to do it.

I have more pictures on my photo bucket if anyone cares to see them. mostly just alternate load outs on the weapons and different angles.

Took this photo based on a comment by Likeits1985. Basically he pointed out that both of these guys are stupidly over gunned. Also I remembered how much I hate trying to pose the strike IWSP without its stand. You dont pose him. You balance him.

Bludgeon

Well something new for here. A review!

Picked up Bludgeon from Wal Mart on my way to work, just happened to be bringing my laptop to work this week so I figured why not do a text review. I doubt it will be up to the standards of the people I read reviews by but it will be a learning experience at least :D well onto the review.

Vehicle mode:

Ok we have an army greenish/highway department orange tank, over all very nice there are some armor panels tacked onto the sides above the tracks that feel very tacked on and honestly I could have done without, especially when you look at how a real Type 90 tank looks. A very nice touch that I really like the looks of is at the front of the tracks there are some brown rubber flaps (molded in hard plastic of course), over all though the whole tank is covered in molded in detail, including spare parts for the tracks molded into the HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT ORANGE center section of the tank.

Besides the orange bits, (which look so very right in robot mode I should not be complaining) the only thing that stands out and looks bad is the cannon, half is molded in the same green as the rest of the turret, the front part is a soft plastic that makes the hilt of his large sword when I say it is soft believe it. more on that later.

Transformation

Fairly straight forward with a very nice gimmick in the turret. I will cover it in depth when I do the video review but the only hardish part is the hips/side skirts. Things fold, turn and roll in a very set way that I doubt I can explain here so please bear with me till i can get the video up sometime next week.

Robot mode

Right off the bat: I think we have a refugee from the Universe line, and that is a good thing!

At first glance he is incredibly bulky thanks in large part to the armor hanging off of him in the form of his shoulder guards, side skirts, and the turret/weapons rack on his back, his actual limbs are very spindly and give off a nice skeleton robot feel, his bio describes him as damaged and in hiding and the way that the "bones" peek out from inside the thighs, and pretty much all of the arms are the stylised rounded bony looking plastic in a sea of hard edged green and orange gives him an almost organic feel that I like.

A sore point for me is the face: I really wish they have given him a more Cybertron Unicron-ish skeletal face, the vertical split through the upper and lower jar just gives a little too much of an alien feel to it. Perhaps if this actually was a universe toy rather than movie line we could have gotten something more human skull looking. I do like how nestled down into his bulk his head is though.

Smaller secondary gripe is the face in his chest. Feels very Gurren Lagann but does not fit the character in my opinion.

Oh yes I said i would get back to the gummi swords... he actually had two of them, one is stowed inside the turret (and flips up in the best bit of mech alive/automorph I think we have ever gotten) it goes into the hands alright. the larger sword that goes into the barrel of the cannon... OMG. Mine has a permanent bend in it, the way that you have to press the sword into the hands deforms them something fierce and heaven help you if the figure falls over onto the sword. I honestly think it is more deformable than vector primes sword. For that reason, even though the swords store on his left hip in robot mode I would seriously consider leaving them stored in the turret on the back.

Articulation is surprisingly nice given the bulk of the armor, with a little manipulation you can easily get it kneeling (feet are a little narrow for one legged standing though)

In closing: Highly recommended, Feels to me like a good if not great homage to the image most of us have in our head of the G1 Pretender, Honestly who out there think of the green inner robot when anyone says "Bludgeon"? Anyway, Highly recommended(again?) 9/10

Well this is what I have been up to lately.

Over all I am disappointed with it, evberyone that has seen it in person likes it, even the guys in my club like it, but to me it looks to tightly packed on the fenders. there is almost no tan showing, then it all opens up on the doors. I wish I had been more consistent.

This is going to be a busy week for me. Going look at a small (but still quite larger than where I currently live) house. I was very exited over it, but now that I have seen better pictures I am not so sure, it is not as large as was originally described to me. it looks to need work, and after gettign a few quotes on having it oved, it will cost more to move it than buy it >.<

finding out about it had made me Re-rethink my "bikertrash Studios" project, leave the bike barn as is, Convert my current house to a workshop/display area. and have an uncluttered house to live in. 10K to move a house that might endup needing that much again in work just does not apeal to me at all, at that point I am almost upto the price of buying a singlewide (guess I would have to change my screen name to "TrailerTrash" if I did that)

Anyway I hope all of yall who read this (all three of you) have a great day.

Ok so it is not really photoshop. And if I had photoshop I still would not know what to do with it.

I have a 1/144 00 raiser in front of me, and I want to repaint it. Right now I am leaning towards a Sword impulse inspired paint scheme. if you have weak eyes avoid looking at my MS Paint recolor job. she is BAD.

I like this alot, not sure which leg coloration I would go with, the red foot black stripe, or black with red... or might just go black with black >.< gah decisions.

I was also considering a Strike Noir color scheme but I don't have any gray spray paint out here what so ever so but I have everything I would need to do this available too me right now. plus my attempt at "paint"shopping it was not very attractive I think and I gave up on it not long after starting on the leg I am sure it would look better than my shoddy coloring makes it look like but I am still digging the red more. Plus the sword impulse colors I think will look nice with the XN raiser add on pack I have at the house. Thoughts?

That's what I tell my self every time I look at this place. It has been almost a month since I updated this. the Dodge has broken twice since my last post, once because the trans shop half assed something, and the second time was the Water pump failed. The water pump failing I think is what has convinced me that I am probably going to keep the dodge. it is just so easy to work on, this was literally the easiest water pump I have ever changed in my life. 2 hours start to finish, and about a 1/2 hour break in the middle of all that to let the coolant drain.

For the first time in several months I feel satisfied with my video output for the week, re uploaded two oldies, did a oddball review, a truck video, AND a new review.

Well, talk with yall more later.

It is only 8:30 and I have been nodding for the last hour. Wanted to wait so I could try to use the other computer here at work to get some pictures uploaded. Had a front come through and the line of clouds looks really cool. As my co-worker put it "it looks like they just took a saw to it and snapped half of it off. Nothing but clear blue skies up to the line and solid gray nasty on the other side.

The photo at the top is the sunset I mentioned the other day. I have seen much nicer just never had the motivation to go and grab a camera, by the time you return everything has changed and the moment is lost. Also I see I need to turn the date off on this dang thing, it is not even the right date!

EDIT: Wow, it is not a good photo, but when I uploaded it it really mutliated them. they look awefull :(

Edit to the edit: if I dont upload them as "small" they are much nicer. Hurrr...

Well my truck is safe and sound back in my shed, the damage was not as serious as I had originally thoguht it was. I have a habbit of that though, convince yourself the worst has happened then when it turns out to be just regular bad then it is not so bad in comparison to what you had been prepairing for.

Moveing on.

I just took a great picture of the sunset out here and this P.O.S. computer wont let me connect the camera to upload it. I just realised I dont have a single picture on here at all yet.

I am going crazy right now. Some tool out here dropped my zune and now it is stuck with I guess the zunes equivilant of the blue screen of death. Going to probably send it off to rapid repair and get it fixed but am seriously considering just getting an el'cheepo sansa or something. I love Zunepass but my new truck has Sirius in it and replacing zunes is getting expensive.

Hopefully this week I will get some videos done I have a bunch of stuff I have been wanting to make videos of but I am already hooked up for several days. I have a friend who is in a blue funk who also has a storage unit filled with G.I Joes, Zoids, Gundams, And transformers that needs clearing out. He has tried to sell it off but he has not had much luck.

I have been for several years considering getting a diesel pickup, I had my chevrolet dually that pulled everythign I had and more but could not keep it fed. I sold it and went back to towing with my F-150 but it leaves alot to be desired, especially when towing in hills.

When it comes to tow rigs you pretty much have three choices, A dodge with a Cummins, A ford with a Powerstroke, And the GM trucks with the Duramax.

Here is how it breaks down: Chevrolet, Best tranmission, second best engine, best ride. Downside? Fuel economy from everything I read stinks, The nice carlike ride comes at the expense of durability in the suspension.
Ford: Power, and Comfort. Badside? The post 2003 engines have a BAD reputation.
Dodge? Lots of power down low where it can work the best, Best in class fuel economy. Bad? It eats transmissions like fords eat engines.

So I decided to go with the dodge just because I dont trust the Powerstrokes, and Chevrolet has never done anything for me after they stopped building the old square bodied trucks.

So what happens? I find a clean one owner dodge 3/4 ton, 4wd, ranch hand bumper on the front and an interior that looks almost as clean as a showroom truck. Drive it home, tool around town, Bring Renee on a few dates, and the the transmission goes out. 300 miles from time of purchase to it arriving at the transmission shop. I knew it was goign to happen, just not that soon.

I was planning on having all the upgrade parts ordered and waiting to be installed at the first sign of trouble, as it is all I am going to be able to afford to add is the new Torque converter (actually thats the part that failed)

Zunes and eating Bugs Bunny.

I have really been getting alot of mileage out of my Zune lately. Between driving to Arkansas, and listening to it while doing pretty much everything else I do in the course of a normal day I figure I have been putting atleast 5 hours a day on the thing at minimum. I have been using it enough that I wish the batteries were more stouth atleast >:(.

I dont know if I mentioned it when I did my Zune review months ago but I love the Zunepass. True you are renting your music but you also get the 10 to keep, if you rember to use them before the credits expire every month >.<. Music I would never buy I am willing to download and listen too just to see. For instance I like alot of Alice in Chains, Jerry Cantrell had a solo album called Boggy Depot that I had only heard the single "Cut you in" off of. I liked that one song a little but not enough to inspire a purchase at retail. Downloaded the album and picked through what it had to offer and I honestly can say that I think Cut you in is one of the weakest songs on the album, "My Song" and "Jesus Hands" stay stuck in my head for hours after listening though. I still dont understand why the Zune gets as little respect as it does. I am starting to see more recently though, and oddly enough most people I meet that have them also have an apple product of some sort as well but like the zunepass. Maybe I am not so weird after all.

I just wonder why no ZunePhone?

And onto a humorous conversation I just had with Renee, She called in the middle of me eating some Lapin (AKA Rabbit).

Goes something like this:

Josh: Hi Renee! how you doing :D.

Renee: Good, I am on my lunch break so I gave you a call.

J: Really I am eating right now, aint that weird coincidence.

R: Yeah! ^_^ what you eating tonight?

J: Rabbit.

R: (silence) .... Josh... Are you messing with me.

J: What do you mean?

R: How would you shoot a rabbit out there? Rabbits Don't swim!

j: Oh yes Renee that's exactly what I did Renee we had some rabbits hop by the platform and shot them.

R: ....

J: ... ok our Grocery store will ship wild game out to us.

R Yeah right. you cant buy rabbits at a store

J: What so it is easier to believe that rabbits came 80 miles off shore and we shot them with the guns we don't have?

R: No. But we don't sell rabbits!

J: Well there are stores besides Wal Mart Renee...

R: Like what?

J:... Coonass mart....

(pretty much the end of the conversation right there)

If yall get tired of hearing about my experiances out here please tell me but since I have not had time to build and models, or shop for transformers it is this or silence.

Well last night was Halloween, and while all the dead spirits were out haunting people (this is the first Halloween for Michael Jacksons ghost) we had something crawl out of a grave out here.

We have a well that just so we have a name to refer to it as lets call "C". C does not make much Natural Gas. C does not make much oil. C makes a TON of water. On a good day 60-90 BBLs of it (2520-3780 Gallons worth). For the last several months it has been doing quite poorly and I was afraid it had finally died down to nothing. I went over to it yesterday to run safety valve holding checks and had the well shut in for nearly an hour, over the hour it only built up 50 pounds of aditional pressure which is not that good. 4 which is our best well if shut it for 5 min will build up from 150 pounds all the way to 800 pounds just for a frame of reference.

Lets skip forward 8 hours: I had just had my shower, I was ready for bed, when the alarm horn goes off. This is no normal horn. Go on youtube and do a search for "train horns" that is what this thing sounds like. the platform is only 100 feet long by 80 feet wide and they have a horn on it that no lie, when I am a mile away on C's platform I can hear this place shut it... anyway back to subject.

C aparently decided it wanted to clear its throat and let us know it was still alive and well. instead of making 40 BBLs of water over about 12 hours it decided it wanted to do that in about oh lets say... 30 min! there are plenty of platforms that would laugh at that, heck the platform I came from made almost 2000 barrels of water a day, this place is nothing like that. I wish I could take yall step by step and explain everything that happened but just sufice to say this: Everything worked, after much running around like madmen everythign leveled out, and all the safety devices worked to keep us out of a bind.

Side note: I wish people who are sick would just stay home from work >.< My lead has been sick all week. today he barely could get out of bed. it is to the point that they had to send someone out to be the second man because he was basically useless.

Full House

I dislike having a full house out here. We only have 2 bunk rooms with 6 beds each. normally it is just me and the lead operator out here and we both stay in down stairs bunk room. We have 5 service hands out right now so we have an extra person in the room with us... This is a good guy we have known for a while but I still don't like 3rd party hands in the bunk room with us. about 5 months ago I had 90 dollars in cash and gift cards to Wal Mart stolen from my locker.

Another thing I don't like is that they clutter the place up. as I am typing this there are two extra laptops on the desk, and one of those little portable printers. A crane mechanic behind me is on a third laptop playing WoW. The reason this bothers me is that I have no where to even attempt to work on any models, and they unplug my Internet cable to this computer to use the net on their machines. (almost as aggravating as my little brother constantly turning off my home computers wireless connection because he says it slows down his stealing of my Internet. )

Finally got caught up on my sleep last night, 10 hours of sleep will really let you see the world in a different light, even when you have to wake up at a quarter to 5. Going to go downstairs and clean some skids in a bit then this evening hopefully start on my F91 Gundam.

Well it was Renee's birthday this week, Her first since we have been dateing so I wanted to make it special. Bought her some nice Birthstone (Opal) ear rings Cooked her a home cooked meal (this steak thing that ends up being something like sirloin tips smothered in mushrooms and onions with a mustard gravy and home made mashed taters) All in all it was a lot of fun :D

Brought her to see Law Abiding Citizen (I think I could have written that [admitingly still entertaining] crap)

On the non romantic front I am 99.9% sure that everyone who reads this also watches my Vlogs on Youtube but I will repeat my self again in talking about Boarderlands (PS3). What blows my mind with it is if you are playing and keepiong your level just slightly lower than that of your enemies just how intinse it is fighting your way through an enemy encampment. The safehouse level in particular stands otu in my memory. I entered it and due to my low level it took me nearly 5 min just to clear out the first corridor after the vending machines. Best thing is it did not let up, I think that was the first area I encountered a "Badass" enemy (basicly the name tells exactly what it is but I think "Freak of nature" might be a better name)Fighting a Badass Psyco in close quarters if you lack the firepower to drop him quickly can be a nerve wracking experiance, worst part is you hear them before you see them, and a lot of times you see them before they show up on radar.

There are only a few things I dont like about the game:

The driving mechanic. You aim your turret with the right analog, you can only go backwards and forwards using the left analog. The problem is that you can only go directly towards or directly away from your enemies if you want to shoot at them. I would have preferred to be able to point the left analog in anny direction and have the buggy go that way independant of where I am aiming.
Getting resurected costs... ALOT. If you are going in to a place that you think you are goign to die there is no use hording money. I guess in a way it really does not matter because I have yet to find much worth buying in the shops except for the Upgraded ammo storage and I think I once got a decent shield.
Traveling between maps is kinda clunky.Untill you learn the maps some you have no clue where one transition or the other leads too. you have to walk alllll the way across the map fighting everything that moves (there is nothing in this game that does not want you dead) just to find out you need to walk to the OTHER corner of the map >.< like Fallout 3 would have helped, or at least labels for the map.

Things I like:

GUNS!! I have little use for the pistols, to weak, to little ammo, to0 slow firing. Revolvers more power, slower shooting, pathetic ammo. Shotguns ^_^ I LOVE the shotguns in this game. My personal favorite is a double barrel shotgun I got from killing one of the bosses Each pellet does like 116 damage, and each shot has 11 pellets. Stuff that I struggle killing, this thing evaporates (unlock the bloody mess perk on Fallout 3 and you get a good idea) Energy weapons.... It is nice having free ammo. I have a 10110 or something like that cannon that does close to 600 damage per shot, but with infinite ammo, and ungodly range it has its uses. I sight up on enemy gun emplacements from about a mile or so off with a high zoom sniper riffle, swap over to this and just shoot for a while.
Unless you are over leveling their is a serious challenge int his game, several times as I was creeping along sniping targets then ducking for cover after I lost track of time completely. the above mentioned safe house level? three hours start to finish I think, felt like a half hour. It is just like a fire at the circus.. it is intense.

Well I think thats enough jaw wagging for now. I think yall are sufficently bored now.

Thankfully no fire in the sky.

Had a little technical difficulty here at work today. we have a big vessel (about 8 feet in diameter and 25 feet long) out here called a line heater that's entire job is to turn natural gas into ginormous amounts of heat. It is very good at that job. Unless it gets a batch of very wet gas that is. There is a smaller vessel in the same skid as the line heater that's job is to catch any mist that may or may not be in the fuel gas going to the burners. (the smaller vessel is called a Fuel Gas Scrubber). Anyway... some how enough condensate managed to get caught in a low point in the line then all spit out at once that it puddled in the burner tubes and made a nice little smoke show

About the title, that was one of my favorite songs a few years back, probably the closest song I ever came to actually learning.

Anyway onto other things. I think my Lead operator is Narcoleptic.. I swear if he sits still for more than five min he WILL fall asleep. After we finished working with the boat last night he went and locked him self in the bathroom. I started waiting for him to come out at 22:30, I gave up at 23:05 and just changed out of my dirty clothes, washed my arms in the kitchen sink, and went to bed. According to the mechanic he was still in the bathroom he was still not out at 23:30. Our best guess is he fell asleep on the commode.

The cool thing about the mechanic, King, ( I SWEAR that is his real name) is that I managed to get him addicted to Gundam Kits. Every week he asks me if I brought an extra kit out for him to buy off of me. So far I think I have sold him a couple 1/144 astrays and a HGUC that I cant recall the name of.. A Bawoo I think. I am trying to talk him into a MG but he says that its to many pieces.

one more day then I am going home on Wednesday ^_^ I am a little surprised I have 7 followers at this point, Didn't think that many would actually want to follow this. Now if I can just work on it at the house as well as out here it might turn into something.

Twelve Days later:

Well. I am offshore again. it is 10pm and we just finished back loading a bunch of tote tanks, environmental drums, ect... I am tired. I am cranky. I smell unpleasant(or so my co-worker tells me).

Rundown of the last week and three days;

Went to Hot springs with Renee ( :D!!! ) Had tons of fun at Super Lift ORV (even though it rained cats and dogs and our campground flooded (and of course F.E.M.A. did not show up). We ended up staying at the Travelier Inn (basic but clean. great rates) for the final two nights of the trip.
Got the ramp in place so now I can park my bikes in the new BikerTrash Studios. Had to push the Honda in due to a dead battery.
Spent my last two days home trying to get some work done on the 4runner. I burnt something up on the trail in the ignition so now the key will not start the truck.. well it will turn the engine over but it wont start. I had to run a wire directly to the ignition coil to get it to fire so now it will start, it just wont die.
bad news number 2 (or 3 if you count the flood) Two of my Staun internal beadlocks have failed... After I had them installed I read a disclaimer about running them with interco tires so I was kinda expecting it. Basically I just ruptured the inner tubes. Will pull it all down this week and try to get some new inner tubed from the tractor supply rather than ordering stauns.
I have had my MG F91 with me out here for the whole week and I have not touched it at all. I feel ashamed of my self.
the reason for that is I just got Gran Turismo for the PSP. On one hand I am filled with an unholy rage because they left the career mode out. On the bright side It is more fun than I have had in a while with my PSP. On the rage side again most of the cars are useless. they match you up with stuff that is entirely out of your league. My Secret weapon? the 1979 Honda civic! the car sucks so bad they feel sorry and give you semi easy opponents :D the Mitsubishi FTO touring car is not to shabby either.
I have Brutal Legend at the house waiting for me to play it more... I am reserving judgement on it till I play it more but it is not the game I thought it was going to be so far... Hopefully Boarderlands is more satisfying.

Well that's it in a nutshell.. a large one. perhaps a Coconut Shell.

Hotsprings Bound!

Well, All fired up now. Going home tomorrow, loading the 4runner on the trailer, and headed to beutifull Hot Springs Arkansas to Superlift Offroad Park. Was tons of fun last time, looks like it will be fun again if the weather holds... If it rains it might not be as fun but it should be exciting atleast >:)

On the bad news front I got a call that my Air Conditioner at home died on me while I have been out here. The thing is less than 2 years old, stinking whirlpool. I have been saving for a TV. Guess it will be a while longer before that happens.

Blog part II

Well we are off to a roaring start! All it took was a week and a day to update my blog (and the fact that it has not two posts that makes it the most successful Josh endorsed blog ever! (YAY)

Went offshore this week like I do every other week and of course could not sleep the night before (those of y'all reading this that know me from YouTube might notice my late night Tuesday posting pattern) so I arrive at the heliport at 5:30am. " Safety meeting" at 6:30 and attempt to get a nap before take off. Nope. 7:15 we are in the air. I don't know what ti s about helicopters but I cant help but fall asleep in them the near constant (nearly unbearable without hearing protection) noise just puts me down.

Anyway.....

When we arrived on site out here about 80 miles south of the Louisiana shoreline found out that our new well was ready to be brought online. I have never messed with one of these before, it is a Sub Sea well. What is interesting about these is just as the name suggests they are Under water. Conventional wells you can walk up to and see the tree, put your hand on it take pressure readings directly and what not. This is just different. They have a flowing that runs from our platform, underwater, and about 1.5 miles north. How we control it is through an umbilical cord with sever stainless steel tubing lines running to it to open and close valves hydraulically, and inject chemicals into the well from here.

The fun part is that all that worked normally, but none of the lever controllers on the separator worked right :D Me and my lead operator had to stay but the entire night and manually make it dump fluids every 10 min. ( oh well I could use the over time) Turns out that was all due to the people who set everything up installed 12" long floats into a separator built to handle 6 inch floats... they were sitting on bottom and would never float to make the controlls call for a dump.

So coupled with my inability to sleep on Tuesday nights, and my unability(?) to sleep Wednesday night I was one tired individual Thursday night.

I am still trying to decide what to do with this blog. I am thinking about making this a more in depth part of my YouTube videos. Making a picture gallery for my videos here rather than in the video so they will actually look clear.
